About

Hi Everyone! I’m Molly, a college lady stationed in Boston, Massachusetts. Although I might not always love my major, the siren call of couture and high street fashion keep my heart— and wallet— close.  I’m captivated, inspired and awestruck by the picture of a gaggle of coat-clad models backstage at the latest Burberry Porsum runway, those killer heels I spot on a girl strutting down the street, the triple-stickered red clearance tag on a gorgeous chiffon blouse. Fashion has always been my favorite vehicle for self-expression, and I believe that the clothes we wear and the way we present ourselves has the ability to heal and encourage, to explore a positive self-image we might not usually see. You know how you feel when you put on that stellar Stella McCartney dress, don’t you? That’s what I love about fashion– the exhilaration, the diversity, and the self-confidence (and respect!) your favorite outfit brings you.

Thoresby will be a place to share my love of fashion and beauty… and maybe an outlet for some collective retail therapy.

For most of my life I was overweight, due to an undiagnosed stomach condition. After recently losing over sixty pounds, my new body and new opportunities drive me to experiment with fashion more and more, and I’m having an amazing time exploring the skinny-bitch styles I thought I’d always be denied. My years as a plus-size girl haven’t totally escaped me, though, and I promise to continue crusading for each and every glamorous fashion-lover out there, no matter what your size!

In addition to shopping and style, I’m a sucker for World War II history, Motown music, a good gluten-free cupcake, everything J.D. Salinger has ever written, and theater has been a passion of mine since childhood. After curbing my irresponsible shopping habits, I plan to move to London and pursue a graduate degree and a career (somewhere) in the West End.

When I’m not blogging, I can usually be found sobbing over my credit card bill alone in by bedroom.

Happy reading!
Love to you all,

Molly
